About Boating:
The term boating refers to traveling on water in a boat mostly
for recreational purposes, but also commercial use in some cases. As
we know, boats come in all sizes imaginable and for all water
masses, like rivers, lakes, ponds, seas and the ocean. Boating is a
very popular activity, especially in coastal states and many native coastal folks earn their living using boats for fishing and touring.
Just as boats come in different shapes and sizes, they are also
used for different purposes, e.g. Kayaks and Canoes, which are
one-person boats, are mostly suited for rough cold seas, while other types
include bateaux, dinghies, ferries, gondolas, fishing and racing boats.
The larger groups consist mostly of catamarans and yachts.

People can boat by themselves, or make use of tourist companies who
specialize in long boating expeditions called cruises. On cruises, people sail the high seas in large boats
while they basically live on the boat for that period. These cruise
ships have themes and activities that make your holiday a memorable
one.
Boating is a very popular activity, which is often coupled with other forms of water recreation such as diving, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, etc. Boats that provide this type of recreation are
usually large in order to accommodate all the necessary gear. During expeditions,
these boats often anchor at suitable spots so that people can jump in and enjoy
the open waters. It is of the utmost importance that strict safety measures
are followed for people who go boating. Although there are
usually Coast Guard and police boats patrolling the waters, it is
compulsory for boaters to carry life-saving jackets.
